Electrical safety reports

Here at Outwood Electrical Ltd, we provide a full inspection and testing service for landlords and prospective home buyers. To have a detailed discussion with our professionals, get in touch with us and we will be happy to help you.

Why does your property need an electrical installation condition report?

Wiring deteriorates over time and our Electrical Installation Condition Report (also known as a landlord safety report or electrical safety check) will identify faults and make recommendations for improvement, to ensure that no harm will come to tenants, customers, the general public or yourself. The EICR reviews all parts of an electrical fixed wire installation but does not include electrical appliances. Electrical appliances can be tested under the PAT scheme and Outwood can also offer this service.

What happens next?

Once we’ve completed the inspection and testing, you’ll get an Electrical Installation Condition Report. Our report will identify any deficiencies in your electrical set-up against the national safety standard for electrical installations. This report can then be used to confirm you have complied with all regulations and it can be kept for any Health and Safety audits. If the report identifies any issues in the installation we are happy to provide a free no obligation quotation for the remedial works.

How often would you need an EICR?

How often your electrical installation needs testing depends on the type and use of the building. However, we would always advise you obtain an EICR in the following circumstances:

  • Change of ownership
  • Change of tenancy
  • Change of use of premises
  • If the terms of your insurance requires it
